This a collection of the alebrijes, that I have been working on.
Alebrijes are fantastic creatures, that are made of paper mache (this means the have made with newspaper, glue made of flour and wire. They are colourfully painted with acrylic paint and decorated with little details in the whole body.
These creatures are combined from different parts of different animals, plants, flower, humans, beings living or death (like resembling some parts in bones).
Originally, Alebrijes were created in Mexico in 1936 by Pedro Linares, he had a dream about seeing these creatures while he was ill, he named in his dream alebrijes, so when he woke up he started to make them in paper mache.
